Blended Emergency First Aid at Work
Details:
Section 1 (3 hours) is accessible online using our comprehensive online training portal. This can be completed on days and at times to suit the learner. This course has been developed for those with limited available time out of the workplace.
Section 2 (3 hours) is tutor led training at your workplace or at our open course venue covering practical aspects of the course and re-capping section 1 if needed.
Syllabus:
The First Aid Training Specialists offer you the opportunity to adapt the course to meet your workplace needs.
A range of subjects that the standard syllabus includes are:
• Responsibilities and reporting • Resuscitation • Burns • Assessment of the situation
• Anatomy • Choking • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Minor injuries
• Epilepsy • Basic hygiene in First Aid • Bleeding control • Shock
Certification:
Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a multiple choice question paper at the end of the day. A three year certification in Emergency First Aid at Work will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
The HSE strongly recommend to all workplaces that successful candidates take annual refresher of three hours each year to maintain the qualification.
