Emergency First Aid at Work
Details:
This one day first aid qualification is ideal when an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners.
This Level 3 National Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.
Duration:
The course consists of a minimum of six contact hours consisting of practical and theoretical activities.
Syllabus:
The First Aid Training Specialists offer you the opportunity to adapt the course to meet your workplace needs.
A range of subjects that the standard syllabus includes are:
• Responsibilities and reporting • Resuscitation • Burns • Assessment of the situation
• Anatomy • Choking • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Minor injuries
• Epilepsy • Basic hygiene in First Aid • Bleeding control • Shock
Certification:
Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a multiple choice question paper at the end of the day. A three year Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
The HSE strongly recommend to all workplaces that successful candidates take annual refresher of three hours each year to maintain the qualification.
Numbers:
Up to 12 candidates can attend and must be a minimum of 14 years of age.
