This excellent and comprehensive blended course combines both the Full Paediatric First Aid & Emergency First Aid at Work courses. 

The course is therefore ideal for childcare settings that require First Aid provision for both children and adults.

Part 1 of the course is 6 hours online training which learners can complete at times convenient to them.

Part 2 of the course is 7 hours tutor-led training covering the practical elements of First Aid for both adults and children.

The course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the HSE, Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED.

Syllabus:

The First Aid Training Specialists offer you the ability to adapt the course to meet your workplace needs.

A range of subjects that the standard syllabus includes:

• Responsibilities and reporting • Resuscitation - Adult and child • Fainting • Assessment of the situation

• Head injuries • Choking • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty - Adult and child • Diabetes • Fractures

• Infantile convulsions • Foreign bodies • Meningitis • Control of bleeding and shock

• Anaphylaxis • Burns • Eye injuries • Heat and cold • Asthma • Sickle cell anaemia

Certification:

Both Paediatric First Aid and Emergency First Aid at Work certificates will be gained on successful completion of both sections of the course.  

The HSE strongly recommends to all workplaces that successful candidates take annual refresher training to update skills and knowledge.

Numbers:

A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course.

Students must be a minimum of 16 years of age to qualify.
